On February 21st, 2013 Olaxx Corp announced a nationwide recall of their popular weight loss supplement sold under the brand name Maxiloss Weight Advanced Softgels. These diet pills contain the unlicensed drug Sibutramine which is not included on the products list of ingredients. Sibutramine was previously used as a controlled substance for the treatment of obesity, however, it was removed from the US Market in October 2010 because of the drugs potentially life-threatening side-effects.

Sibutramine can drastically increase a user’s blood pressure and pulse rate. This drug also poses a great risk to people who have a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and strokes.
